Health and Stress Management

The holistic Yoga principles of harmony and unity have made it successful as a form of complimentary therapy in the treatment of such conditions as asthma, diabetes, back pain, headaches, digestive disorders and stiff hips. As the body learns to work more efficiently problems like these can be alleviated. Yoga also works on the emotional level as many people suffer from stress and trauma. Yoga techniques can help to release tension and teach us methods of coping with the demands of modern day living.

Flexibility

Yoga is non-competitive – i.e. every posture is practised to the best of that person’s ability. As the Yoga practise progresses, students find their flexibility improves greatly but gently.
Sirsasana

Regular Yoga practise

There is no minimum or maximum recommended time. However, attending a weekly class is a good starting point and the teacher can give gentle asanas (postures) to be practised on a regular basis at home.
